Anna Ellis has an exuberance for life and is a dedicated dance educator with over 10 years of experience in teaching, choreography, and performing.Traveling through the country she has taught in numerous studios, notably, Kids Movement Arts, Riverpointe Dance Academy, Pacific Ballet Conservatory, and Bodyvox Dance Center.She has an extensive background with teacher training in an array of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre.Anna’s excitement for dance began at Maranatha School of Dance in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 7 and has carried over into her professional life.During her career, she’s had the extraordinary opportunity to tour overseas, perform multiple large productions, produce several dance films, and perform in the music video SOS by Joseph.Anna has resided in East Portland since 2021 and was a BodyVox company artist for two years where she enjoyed the roles in Toy Boat, Little Miss Tuffet, and Café Blanco.In the past two years she has expanded her skill set to aerial arts with silks and lyra, as well as performing in local dance productions by Theresa Hanson and Carlyn Hudson.Now she is thrilled to be introducing a new dance program called Dance Alive Portland.This program aims to be a vibrant fusion of dance that combines classical ballet technique, creative movement, and athletic strength into one class, designed for ages 3-14.Her passion is to foster artistic expression and encourage confidence, cultivating a positive and supportive environment for young dancers.When she’s not working you can find her playing board games with her favorite people, eating great food, and building miniature houses.
